Fire Station Field Trip

Yesterday, Myra's preschool class took a field trip to the Fire Station. They all enjoyed it SOOOO much! It was a lot of fun for all of the kids! Lexi was even enthralled! Both Myra and Lexi paid great attention to everything "Fireman Mike" said and were quick to make comments and try to answer questions. Lexi wasn't took excited about loud noises, along with several other kids, so we didn't get to hear any sirens. They got to hear about all that a Fireman and Rescue Worker does and they got to take tours of an ambulance and Fire Engine. They even got to see "Fireman Mike" go down the pole. At the end of the tour, they got souvenir fireman hats. It was so much fun for the kids!

Eating Solids

We finally started feeding Noah "solid" food! Yeah! I'm hoping it will help him to start sleeping longer. So far, he's not much of a fan, but I'm hopeful! His reaction was pretty much what I expected, distaste and he actually gagged! I never had that happen with the girls. Funny boy! After several days though, he's doing much better and tonight he even ate it all and opened his mouth when I offered it to him. He's such a cute little thing!

Noah - 4 Months

This is a little late, but I wanted to wait for his 4 month doctor check-up before posting. The picture was taken on his 4 month birthday, Dec. 28.

Weight: 14lbs. 7oz. - 32%
Height: 24 3/4in. - 34%
Head Circumference: 41cm - 14%
Chubby Cheeks and Double Chin - 110%

At 4 Months, Noah is such a sweet baby. He loves to smile at all of us. He's starting to play with toys and still loves chewing on his hands. He really enjoys bathtime and absolutely loves all the attention his sisters give him. He loves to be held and enjoys being a part of things. He continues to sleep really well, usually 5-7 hours at night. He's even gone 9 hours a few times. Hopefully once we start solid foods, he'll go a bit longer. He is the sweetest little boy and we all adore him!

New Years 2010

On Thursday, we headed up to Bear Lake to spend New Years with Chad's parents and his brother Blake and sister Jordyn. We went out to eat that night and stayed up until midnight to celebrate the new year. Even Myra and Lexi stayed up with us. They were so tired though! I was surprised that they didn't really even sleep in the next morning. On New Years day we had a lot of fun playing in the snow. Thanks Bre and Danny for an awesome Christmas present! I was worried how the kids would do out in the cold for so long, but they stayed out longer than I did! They loved it! We played on the playground, the slides were extra slippery. My backside's still a little sore from one of my landings! We also found a little hill to go sledding down. It was perfect for the girls and they were so brave to go down by themselves! We spent pretty much the rest of the day playing our new Mario Brother's Wii game. It was so much fun! We took breaks for dinner and a rousing game of Uno. The 1st was also my birthday, so Chad made me a cheesecake and I got to open up a couple of presents.
We didn't bring any candles, so I got to blow out a match. I hope my wish comes true! That night Chad slept outside in his new sleeping bag. Brrrr!
He said he was warm the entire night though. Except that water from his breath condensation kept dripping on his face. Anyway, it was a fun birthday and a good beginning to a new year! I think there will be a lot of changes for us this year. I'm excited to see what the year has to bring!

Christmas 2009 - Continued

On Sunday, after Christmas, we packed up and headed to hear my cousin Sara speak in church. She's headed out this week to Tennessee for a LDS mission. After church was over and we got in the car to leave, we realized that our car had been robbed! A couple of items were taken, but it could have been so much worse since our car was packed for a week away from home! Still, the thought that someone was in my car, going through my purse really upset me. What a way to start out the week! Once we got to my parents house, we opened up Christmas presents with them. Of course, I forgot to take any pictures. The girls had a great time having a second Christmas. They really enjoyed opening presents this year. My parents did a good job on making this a special Christmas for us. It was fun visiting with them and my sister and her husband. We stayed at my parent's house until Thursday morning. During that time we had a lot of fun chatting with each other, playing games, eating, going miniature golfing, shopping and visiting most of our Grandparents. I was especially happy to show Noah to my Grandpa Newman for the first time. He's in an Alzheimer's unit and we were lucky to catch him on a good day. He seemed quite taken with Noah! We also were able to take a 4 generation picture with Chad, his dad, his grandpa and Noah. They all have the middle name Alton! We had a lot of fun visiting with all of our family!

Christmas 2009

We had such a fun Christmas this year! We made homemade pizza for Christmas Eve and had dinner at our friends, The Day's, house. It was great conversation and the kids, of course, had a blast. To end out the evening there, we acted out the Nativity story. We did parts of it twice so that both Myra and Camille could take turns as Mary. That night we got home and got ready for Christmas the next morning. We adopted this idea from some old neighbors of ours. We wrapped up pj's for the girls in a ball of yarn and let them open that. It was actually a lot of fun, kind of messy, but we all had a blast opening ours. We put our cookies and water for Santa and an orange for his reindeer. And read the Night Before Christmas with the girls. Then, we head a bell jingle. We ran downstairs and found a present on the snow with a card from Santa saying he was just flying over and would be back later with our presents, in the meantime, here's a game for us to play. It was Hungry, Hungry Hippos and we all had a fun time playing that. Once we got the girls tucked in bed and asleep, Chad and I did a bit of last minute wrapping and preparations for the next morning, then headed to bed. No one got up the next morning until 8:30. We went down and opened presents. The girls seemed pretty excited about the playhouse I made them. It was a lot of work, so I hope they were excited! Lexi got a Big-Wheel bike from Santa, but it's too big for her little legs, so we are going to try to exchange it. Myra got a princess CD player. Noah had a fun 1st Christmas, sleeping most of the day! We fixed a yummy ham for dinner and spent the rest of the day resting, reading, cooking, playing and enjoying each other's company. It was such a great Christmas!

Christmas Letter 2009

Dear Family and Friends,

Seasons Greetings to all of you. Another year is at an end and it’s been fun to reflect back upon all that has happened this past year. It’s been a good year, not without its ups and downs, but I can say the ups are definitely winning.

We continue to enjoy living in Logan and have been blessed with wonderful friends and acquaintances in this area and will be very sad whenever we leave.

Chad continues to work at USU in the Mormon Cricket lab. His work was in the newspaper and on the news this past year. Chad had to have his appendix removed earlier this year, garnering his first hospital stay.

Shannon is still enjoying her full-time job as a mom to our 3 wonderful kids. She has continued to run her business, CuddleBaby Boutique (at cuddlebaby.etsy.com), and has a lot of fun with that.

Myra turned 4 this year and continues to be a bundle of energy. She is the friendliest kid I know, always sharing a smile and a hello with everyone she passes. She’s enjoying Joy School and will be very excited to go to Kindgergarten next year. She’s a wonderful big sister to her siblings and great help to her parents!

Lexi entered her “terrible two’s” this year. She loves to snuggle with anyone that will let her. She adores her big sister and also seems to enjoy fighting with her. Lexi has discovered the fun of playing dress-up and is hardly ever without a costume on.

Noah entered our family on August 28, weighing 5lbs 9oz. He’s currently 3 months old and we are enjoying him more and more every day. He’s been sick quite a bit during his short life, but has continued to charm us with his adorable little smile. We absolutely adore him!

We want to wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and a Wonderful New Year! We hope that 2010 is a great year for everyone!

Love,

Chad, Shannon, Myra, Alexys, & Noah Keyser

Family Pictures

We finally got around to taking family pictures. We went last night and were able to get some of the girls and barely a few of the family. Noah was not cooperative, so I went back with him again this morning. It went much better. I have such cute kids! Can you believe how chubby Noah looks?
