Trick-Or-Treat

Another Halloween has come and gone and all we have to show for it is a very hyper two year old, and these pictures, of course! Myra didn't really understand it much, but when I tried to explain Trick-or-Treating to her today, she was very excited and wanted to go right then. In fact, she kept coming out of her room during nap time to see if it was time to go Trick-or-Treating. Finally she took a nap and when she woke up, that's the first thing she asked me. Then I had to make her wait longer until Dad was home. We went over to our friends, the Day's, so that Myra and Camille could Trick-or-Treat together. It was so cute. I think Myra mostly enjoyed ringing the doorbells. Then we had dinner that night with the Day's. It was a fun Halloween. The pictures above are of Myra, Camille, Lexi and Madelynn. There are also some pictures at our ward Halloween party.

My two Babies

Lately, Myra has decided that if Lexi is doing something cute, she needs to do the same thing, then she says, "Look Mama, your two babies, take a picture." Of course she rarely smiles for the camera, but in these instances, she seems to like her picture taken. So, here are some pictures of my two "Babies."

Home Again

After two weeks in sunny, warm and humid Florida, we were greeted back in Utah with cold and rainy weather. It was so great to get home. Chad was able to get a pass to come in and meet us at the gate. I wasn't expecting it, so I walked right by him, but Myra noticed and she was so happy to see her daddy. I was pretty excited too! It was fun talking and getting caught up on the way home, but what a surprise I was in for when I got home. Take a look at this picture...

For those of you that haven't been to our house, this is a picture of our front room and when I left for Florida, it wasn't blue. That's right, Chad painted our front room and added some shelves, which I have been wanting for a while. He had also completely cleaned the entire house. I have the best husband in the world! It is so great to be back home with him. Now I am just trying to get the kids back into their normal schedules and get everything put away. Ugh!

I'm kind of going out of order because I want to tell about the rest of our trip. I last wrote a week ago. The rest of that week, we mostly just hung around the house and swam in the pool. Natalie and I went canoeing and snorkeling a little, but the intracoastal was really murky, so the snorkeling wasn't as good as when we were there in August. We also finally made it to the beach. However, the waves were really rough and high, so we were kind of timid about going out to far. We mostly just played near shore and looked for seashells.

On Saturday, we got up early and took off for Miami to go to the Seaquarium there. Brandon and Allison went with us. It was a lot of fun. We saw a couple of different dolphin shows, a killer whale show, manatees, crocodiles, sea turtles, birds and a bunch of other fun stuff. The funnest show we went to was the Sea Lion show. It was a lot of fun. Myra enjoyed it quite a bit also. We spent all day there and could have probably stayed longer, but everyone was hungry and Myra was pretty tired. On Sunday, we went to church and had an interesting lesson about the pope and what his staff represents. Why? Good question. On Monday, Jordyn and Kent played hooky from school and work and the girls went shopping for a little bit in the morning, then in the afternoon we went to Singer Island and played in the ocean again. Once again, the water was really rough, but I think because Jordyn and Kent were more brave than Natalie and I alone, we were more into going out farther in the water. It was all you could do to keep your balance, the water was pulling on us so hard. That night Brandon and Allison came up for dinner and games. Then, Tuesday morning we packed up and flew home. (It was such a long flight!)
Well, we had a lot of fun in Florida. It was so nice of Kent and Judi to fly us out and we will cherish the memories we made while there.

Butted by a Goat

Well, we've reached the half-way point. We are still have a good time. Judi, Natalie and James are all sick, so we are hoping that it doesn't get to us. We went to the Outlet shops in Vero Beach on Monday then yesterday we went to the Lion Country Safari. It's this large drive-through animal park. We saw all kinds of ostriches, zebras, rhinos, elephants, water buffalos, lions, monkeys and more. Then at the end of the drive-through, there is a sort of walk-through amusement park and more exhibits. We saw turtles, alligators, birds and more. They had a little petting zoo with goats in it. Myra loved it. She got to feed the goats and kept hugging them and giving them kisses, Yuck! The goats must of been really hungry, because they were crowding around her and one was especially agressive about getting food. It was trying to butt some of the other goats and way and in the process, hit Myra in the face with the back of one of its horns. From my point of view, I thought it got her in the eye, but it ended up being high up on the forehead. She was crying like crazy and as I was comforting her, all she kept saying was, "I need to give the goat a hug." Once she was better, she got down and right back into the middle of all the goats.
I got to take Myra on several amusement park rides, which she loved. Especially the flying dragon. But the highlight of the trip was feeding Giraffes. We were able to feed this Giraffe's crackers and it was great. Myra didn't like their long tongues, but once again, she was very brave. She has no fear. So, it was a fun activity. Myra really likes animals.

Here are a couple of fun pictures of the kids. Myra just finished eating some ice cream and Lexi enjoying a quick boat ride in the pool.

Today we went to the Jonathan Dickinson State Park and took a boat ride up the Loxahatchee river. We went to this place called Trapper Nelson's. Back in the early 1920's, this main built a home in the middle of the swampy river area and it eventually became kind of a tourist spot to visit. That is until he was sued in the 1950's and he became a recluse. A little later he was found dead. The conclusion was that it was self-inflicted, however, the shotgun had been wiped clean and there were no footprints in the surrounding sand. A little suspicious I think. Anyways, it was a fun boat ride. We saw an alligator, lots of turtles and some pretty birds. Here are a couple of pics.
A turtle sunning itself. Trapper Nelson's. Myra's didn't take a nap today!

Key West

Yesterday we took a drive to the Florida Keys. We got up about 5:30, although we didn't leave the house until around 7:30. Its hard getting 3 little kids ready. Once we made it to Key Large, we stopped at a little park to feed babies and change diapers. They had a bunch of cool aquariums and Myra enjoyed looking at the large tropical fish. We stopped on Islamorada and went to the Theater of the Sea. We got to see a bird show, dolphin show, sea lion show and take a trip in an open bottom boat while dolphins swam next to us. The dolphins were the best. It was a lot of fun. After lunch we headed down to Key West, the most southern point in the Continental U.S. We got there kind of late and didn't get to do too much there, especially since we got hit by a huge rainstorm. It was like a hurricane without such powerful wind. Kind of scary. We were all soaked, since we were outside when it started raining. Then we headed back. It was a lot of fun. Today we hung out and watched Conference and went swimming. The kids are doing great. Myra's hair is super curly with all this humidity and Lexi just sleeps, eats and coos.

We made it to Florida

Well, we made it. It was quite a challenge flying with two kids to Florida, but we did it. The kids were actually really good. Myra only got upset when they took her sprite away on the airplane because we were about to land. We've mostly just taken it easy. Yesterday we swam in the pool and just hung around the house, resting, since we didn't get much sleep the day before. Today, we went to the Loggerhead Turtle Exhibit. We went there last time, but Myra really enjoyed it. She wanted to hold the baby turtles, but they wouldn't let her. Tomorrow, we are planning on taking a trip to the Florida keys. I'm pretty excited. Hopefully the weather is good. It's been kind of rainy. It should be a fun trip.
